  The pool area was nice and clean, with plenty of sunbeds. The room itself was large and clean with great views across Vegas. The sports kitchen and the chinese restaurant next door (MahJong) sold nice food at reasonable prices. The club upstairs (Voodoo Lounge) was good too - with free entry if you get a flyer. The concierge staff were really friendly and helpful when we needed to access the internet to find out news about the volcano ash. There is a free shuttle bus to the strip, so that was really useful too.

  We stayed at the Rio because we were stranded in Vegas due to the Volcano ash and couldn't afford to stay in the Trump hotel for another week. This hotel was great for the price I paid, however, the smokiness of the hotel did start to get to me after the week. It was a bit of a culture shock after staying at the Trump (no casino and no smoking). One negative though, when we needed to contact the UK to sort out our delayed flight, the staff at check in refused to let us use their phone saying they didn't dial outside of the USA!! For an international hotel, I felt this was inadequate and disappointing! No WIFI is available in the bedrooms either, which would've been useful in the circumstances as I only had my iphone, and no laptop.

  Responsive house cleaning and front desk staff. Clean rooms.

  Lack of notice when booking that an extra $50 a day is taken for incidentals, and not credited back upon checkout- still waiting for my checking account to be credited. Would have stayed elsewhere if I had known that. Security was a little lax- I was solicited by a prostitute at the base of the Impanema tower on 2-21 at 1:00 a.m.

  The only smoking floor seemed to be more run down than non-smoking rooms I've been in here. Smokers pay the same as non smokers so they deserve the same upgrades.

  Very big and nice view.

  The elevator was slow and the door to the room looked a bit beat up. The bathroom was a bit small.

  Very nice spaceful rooms. More than 60 sq.meters in a standard room. Great view to the city. No resort fees (!!!)

  located not on the Strip, but there're free shuttle busses to the Strip and back.

  We stayed because our conference was at the Rio.

  It was noisy every night and we couldn't sleep, food is too expensive, we had a drunken man knocking on our door early in morning. Really didn't get any sleep.

  I did not like nor appreciated the sticker shock aft the bill was reconciled! Rio's charged my account $723 on a Booked.net $437 confirmed rate. This was aft a $300 n something credit was reflected in the bill the morning I checked out. If that credit was not there, I would gladly went to the customer service desk to dispute the charges. The only additional expense was one day of Internet use. I fully expect to be credited with the difference.
